Basic Security Guard Training Course Online (35 hours)

The Basic Security Guard Training Course is a legislative requirement to become a licensed Security Guard in Ontario.

Topics Include:

Section 1: Introduction to the security industry
Section 2: The Private Security and Investigative Services Act and Ministry Code of Conduct
Section 3: Basic security procedures
Section 4: Report writing
Section 5: Health and safety
Section 6: Emergency response preparation
Section 7: Canadian legal system
Section 8: Legal authorities
Section 9: Effective communications
Section 10: Sensitivity training
Section 11: Use of force theory
Section 12: Emergency-level first aid certification

Emergency First Aid and Level “C” CPR with AED Program (8 hours)

Emergency first aid training is a legislative requirement. One person must be trained in emergency first aid if five or fewer people work at a given workplace on any shift.

The Odin Security First Aid/CPR/AED programs are WSIB certified.

Topics Include:

  • Emergency Scene Management, Shock, Levels of Consciousness
  • Heart attack, Stroke and Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Adult CPR and Choking Sequences
  • Infant and Child CPR and Choking Sequences
  • Public Access Defibrillation
  • Wounds, Bleeding and Burns
  • Diabetes, Allergic Reactions, Asthma

HOW TO BECOME A SECURITY GUARD IN ONTARIO

BE A LICENSED SECURITY GUARD IN THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO IN 4 SIMPLE STEPS

STEP 1
COMPLETE ONLINE SECURITY LICENSE TRAINING PROGRAM AND FIRST AID AND CPR TRAINING

STEP 2
GET YOUR TRAINING COMPLETION NUMBER and FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION

TCN will be given to you upon completion of the 35 hour online security program training and First Aid Certification will be given to you upon completing of mandatory 8 hours in class training.

STEP 3
REGISTER TO AND PASS THE SECURITY GUARD TEST

STEP 4
APPLY FOR YOUR ONTARIO SECURITY GUARD LICENSE
